Chino Hills and Canyon Hills Little League Opening Day is Here
This Saturday, Feb 28th is the big day for the little leagues. Opening day
is upon us. As the teams are getting ready for their 1st game, there is a buzz
about who will win the Raffle Grand Prize of $15,000, and who will win their
first game!!! There will be plenty of fun, and food during the entire opening
day. Make a day out of it, kick back, and have fun!!! Opening Ceremonies for the
spring season happen on (this) Saturday, February 28th. Chino Hills Little
League and Canyon Hills Little League are combined this year so it will be a big
day. Come early and enjoy the day while you take your team photo, and see your
friends. There will be plenty of good food and things to do and see...

CHINO - It was a night of elation Thursday for Chino High School
agriculture students overjoyed by a unanimous school board vote to continue
their program into next year. The ag program was due to close at the end of this
school year to save money after considering the program's low enrollment...

State Senator Bob Huff Frustrated By CPUC Decision
Risks to health and safety of public if transmission towers are placed
close to homes and schools. Senator Bob Huff (R - Diamond Bar) today expressed
his displeasure with the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) released by
the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) which lists Southern
California Edison’s proposed route as the preferred route for the Tehachapi
Renewable Trans mission Project. "Over 1,000 adjacent property owners are within
500 feet and closer of the towers being proposed by Edison," Senator Bob Huff
remarked. "These towers are projected to climb to 198 feet and have a wing span
for transmission lines of 60 feet. The hazards posed by such high and long
conductors put the citizens of Chino Hills at great risk."...

Chino Hills Residents Rally Against Edison's Proposed Electrical Towers
Edison wants to place 200-foot Transmission Towers Near Homes and Schools
City Files Complaint Citing Safety Hazards of Edison's Proposed Transmission
Line Route through Neighborhoods. CHINO HILLS --- The residents of Chino Hills
today rallied a
gainst Southern California Edison's proposal to double in height
the towers that carry power lines that have been active for 30 years or longer.
The proposal would build new towers and power lines that will carry double
circuit 500 kV transmission lines and place them through densely populated
neighborhoods and near schools. This rally took place just after the city filed
a lawsuit against Edison to protect its residents from Edison's proposal to
route the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project power lines through densely
populated Chino Hills' neighborhoods...
